Investigators said he admitted shooting his dad.

Video shows a Miami County deputy walking up to a shooting scene on Dec. 30.

Daniel Davis Jr. is standing at the end of his driveway on the phone with 911.

As the deputy puts Davis Jr. in handcuffs you can hear a woman shouting for help.

The deputy tells two police officers to head that way:

“Go. Go. Go!” the deputy says.

TRENDING STORIES:

Davis Jr.’s 911 call was one of two that brought law enforcement and medics to the home on Monroe-Concord Road in Union Township.

“My name’s Daniel Davis Jr… I just shot my dad … I’m turning myself in. I know what I did,” he tells dispatchers in the 911 call. “I am sitting in the driveway. I have surrendered my weapon. And I’m just going to sit here and wait.”

He’s now accused of murdering his father, 54-year-old Daniel Davis Sr. who died at the hospital.

Miami County Chief Deputy Steve Lord previously told News Center 7 that the Davis’ were arguing inside a detached garage.

Court documents show Davis Jr. admitted to the shooting a second time in an interview.

At the end of the body cam video, you see a deputy putting him into a cruiser for a ride to jail.

Davis Jr. faces an aggravated murder charge.

Deputies said they want a grand jury to review this case.

Court documents show we’re getting closer to that happening but that a grand jury has not indicted him yet.

We will continue to follow this story.
