JEFFERSON TWP., Montgomery County — MetroParks rangers arrived at Possum Creek MetroPark around 10 a.m. Monday to begin an investigation after a female’s body was found at the park.

“We had a couple 911 calls,” said Officer Lynne Zimmerman with MetroParks. “It was clearly visible when you went into the park.”

Investigators do not believe that there was foul play involved in the incident, according to MetroParks Police Chief Mark Hess.

Zimmerman said she believes it was staff members who called in after the body was found.

The park’s roads and trails had only been open about two hours before the emergency calls came in, she said.

“We’re on the main drive, we’ve got a body on the main drive,” the 911 caller said.

The caller told the dispatcher that the woman appeared to be in her 20′s or 30′s and was not wearing shoes or a shirt. Dispatchers were also told that she had no purse or other obvious identification around her except for a lighter at her waist.

MetroParks has not released any specific details on how the female died, however the coroner’s office has been called to assist in the investigation.
