BELLEFONTAINE, Logan County — A boil advisory has been issued for several areas in Bellefontaine due to a water main repair, according to the city’s water department.

People under this advisory have been asked to boil water for at least five minutes before consuming it.

The department also asks people to let their water run and clear up if it is discolored or cloudy.
The following areas are under a boil advisory:
- 1127 N Main Street through 1640 N Main Street
- Northview Drive
- Dowell Avenue
- 1673 County Road 9
- Turner Road
- Omaha Road
- Shawnee Trce
- Knowlton Road
- Milligan Road
- Whetstone Court
The water department has to collect and test samples before lifting the boil advisory.
A Bellefontaine Police Department dispatcher confirmed that the listed areas are still under a boil advisory around 5 p.m.
