XENIA — The City of Xenia announced that the boil advisory has been lifted days after a “major water main break.”

The water main break was reported Tuesday morning in the area of East Second and South Patton Streets.
The boil advisory impacted the areas east of Columbus Street and south of Church Street, including East Market Street to East Third Street.

A city spokesperson said crews have repaired the line and installed new valves, but they had to take the water main offline overnight. That action resulted in an interruption of water services for surrounding residents.
