FULL STORY:

UPDATE Sept. 20 @ 10 p.m.: Clark County Sheriff's deputies on Thursday night were continuing their search for Raymond Roberts, suspected of stabbing of his wife at their home on Qu Wood Road, south of Springfield, Thursday morning.

Deputies are looking for a gray or silver 2011 Ford Focus bearing license tag HNC4229. The Ohio State Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies have been put on alert as well.

Roberts, 42, is described as approximately 6-foot-1, 225 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes, according to emergency dispatch traffic.

Court records show he reportedly told a family member a couple of days ago “he was buying a one-way ticket to Florida.”

The victim, who deputies said was stabbed in the neck, was able to get into a car from their home and crashed into Mayberry’s Mini Mart in the 4000 block of Springfield-Xenia Road about 6 a.m., according to deputies.

Deputies said Roberts followed the vehicle to the store.

An Enon resident who frequents the mini mart stopped there for gas today and said he saw blood on the ground.

“I’ll definitely keep my eyes peeled,” said Nate McGlothin. “It brings a lot of fear to everyone. You don’t know what’s going on out here day to day, even hour to hour. People are crazy these days.”

Roberts is being sought on national arrest warrants for felonious assault and domestic violence, filed in Clark County court Thursday morning.

Court records show deputies found a “large amount of blood on the (garage) floor and a large knife on the floor as well” at the residence. Five empty pill bottles were recovered from a workbench in the garage as well.

“The incident appeared to take place mostly in the detached garage of the house,” according to court records.

Shortly after the stabbing, deputies were searching for a white Dodge Challenger, which was found about 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the Enon Eagles on Lower Valley Pike.

Deputies said Roberts took the Ford Focus from his parents house on Lower Valley Pike after he told them “he was in trouble and had to leave,” records show.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

According to an affidavit filed in Clark County, hospital officials told deputies “her condition was not good and she would most likely be in the hospital for several weeks.”

The victim’s sister said, “(the victim) put her life on hold to raise her daughter and give her the best life possible.”  She said the victim was working as a bus driver.

“(She) devoted her life to her family,” the sister said.

We will update this developing report as information becomes available.
