CENTERVILLE — Firefighters are working to control a fire in Centerville on Tuesday.

Around 1:50 p.m. Washington Township Fire Department was called to the 9400 block of Lantern Way for a fire, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

One caller told dispatchers they heard a “boom” before the fire.
Images captured by News Center 7 crews at the scene show a garage heavily damaged by a fire. Smoke can be seen coming out of the roof and there appears to be a vehicle inside the garage.
Troy Bonfield, Deputy Chief of Operation for Washington Twp. Fire said there was heavy fire coming from the garage and the second floor of the home when they got on the scene.
Bonfield said crews are not only combating the fire but dangerously cold temperatures.
A neighbor said they heard multiple explosions that even shook his house.
Bonfield said no one was inside the house at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
