Boyfriend indicted on murder charges in 2-year-old’s death

A 22-year-old man has been indicted on multiple murder charges after a grand jury reviewed the killing of 2-year-old Brayden Ferguson.

Ryan Lucas St. John was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury on two murder charges, felonious assault, two endangering children charges and involuntary manslaughter, according to court records.

Ferguson died in February following an assault on Southshore Drive in Dayton, county Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr.’s office said the evidence will show.

According to the prosecutor’s office, St. John was watching the toddler while the mother was out.

St. John is due in court Aug. 1 for arraignment. He remains in jail on a $500,000 bond.
