VANDALIA — A Vandalia-Butler City Schools staff member was injured after being hit by a vehicle Thursday morning, according to the school district.
Vandalia Police and medics responded to reports of a person hit by a vehicle outside of Butler High School around 7:40 a.m.

According to a message sent out by the district, a staff member was hit by a vehicle as they were crossing from the board office parking lot to Butler High School.
The staff member sustained a non-life-threatening injury.
“Thank you to the students and staff members who helped and took swift action to call for emergency services. Please let this be a reminder to drive carefully through all parking lots in the district,” a spokesperson for the district said.
