Brookville Police and Fire were dispatched to the 400 block of Sycamore Street on reports of a possible structure fire, Englewood Dispatch, who also dispatches for the city of Brookville, confirmed.
When Brookville Police arrived at the scene, an officer reported seeing “heavy smoke coming out of every angle of the house,” dispatch said.
Once Brookville Fire arrived, they were able to confirm that there was a working fire in the attic, causing an upgrade in the emergency status of the response call.
The intersection of Westbrook Road and Maple Street was fully blocked off during the incident to allow for fire operations.
The home was also occupied at the time of the fire. As a result, a full evacuation of the home was ordered while firefighters attempted to extinguish the flames.
It is currently unknown if anyone was injured.
