CLEVELAND — Mistakes hurt the Cleveland Browns in a 21-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Huntington Bank Field.

The Browns committed six turnovers which led to 14 Chiefs points.
Jameis Winston threw three interceptions and Kansas City recovered two fumbles. Dorian Thompson-Robinson also threw an interception late in the game.
Cleveland fell to 3-11 on the season.

The Browns’ defense forced a three-and-out to start the game, but James Proche II fumbled the punt. Former Bengal Samaje Perine recovered. Three plays later, Patrick Mahomes threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster to put the Chiefs ahead, 7-0.
Two drives later, Winston led the Browns to the Chiefs’ 36-yard-line, but his deep throw to the end zone got intercepted by Bryan Cook.
In the second quarter, Mahomes capped a 14-play, 87-yard drive with a six-yard touchdown pass to Noah Gray to extend the lead to 14-0 at halftime.
On the first play of the third quarter, Winston threw a short pass to Chubb, who did not secure it. Nick Bolton picked it off. It led Xavier Worthy’s 21-yard touchdown run to increase it to 21-0.
Jereme Ford put the Browns on the scoreboard with a 62-yard touchdown run.
Coach Kevin Stefanski said it is hard to win if you don’t take care of the ball.
“You cannot turn the ball over six times and expect to win any football game at any level,” he said after the game. “It’s hard enough to turn over once versus a very good football team. So, I’m extremely disappointed that we did that.”
Mahomes did not finish the game for Kansas City He got his ankle rolled up while being tackled by Dalvin Thompson on a fourth down incompletion, according to the Associated Press.
Carson Wentz replaced Mahomes for the final 5:23 of the game.
Mahomes said after the game that X-rays were negative.
“We’ll get into the rehab part, the treatment part and try to get back on a short week,” he said. “With all the adrenaline from the game, it’s hard to tell now (if he can play). Usually, it’s the day after when you get a good sense of it.” The Chiefs’ next game will be Saturday against Houston.
Cleveland travels to Paycor Stadium to play Cincinnati on Sunday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m.
