Buck Creek Marina closed as crews clean up ‘unidentified substance’ in water; Ohio EPA responding

MOOREFIELD TOWNSHIP — The marina at Buck Creek State Park is currently closed as multiple agencies work to clean up an unidentified substance in the water, according to a spokesperson for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

ODNR spokesperson Andy Chow told News Center 7 containment booms, flotation devices that contain the spread of a substance, have been deployed.

The substance has been contained to the marina.

ODNR is working with the Springfield Fire Division, Moorefield Township Fire Department, the Ohio EPA, and the Clark County EMA, Chow said.

The substance has not been identified at this time.
