Butler County Sheriff’s Office warns of recent scam calls

BUTLER COUNTY — The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about recent reports of scam calls.

The sheriff’s office says to look out for calls coming from someone claiming to be Sgt. Ron Owens or Judge McDonough and telling people they need to appear in court.

There have also been scam calls requesting Western Union cards. The Butler County Dispatch Center says one woman sent more than five-thousand dollars to the scammer.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind people that this is a scam and to never send Western Union cards or money of this sort.
