The department said Wednesday on social media K-9 Zorro “crossed over the rainbow bridge.”
“Zorro will be greatly missed by all of us here in Butler Township, especially his fellow officers and friends,” the department wrote on its Facebook Page. “He will be forever standing guard and watching over the officers and residents of Butler Township. Rest well Brother Zorro! We will take it from here!”
News Center 7 previously reported back in October the retirement of K-9 Zorro after serving more than seven years with handler Sergeant Amy Carr.
During his time with the police department, Zorro has had over 400 deployments leading to the arrest of over 150 people.
