A vegetable solution can help make your winter commute a little safer.
Known as a beet heet, the solution combines beet molasses, liquid sugar and liquid chloride to melt ice.

While most people think of salt as a go-to for treating roads, driveways and sidewalks during the winter, more counties in the Miami Valley are turning to beet heet and using it along with salt.
