SPRINGFIELD — Large plumes of smoke were seen after a car fire near a gas station in Springfield.
Crews were called to a car on fire inches away from a gas pump at a BP gas station on South Charleston Pike around 3:30 p.m.
Fire crews were able to put out the fire before it spread to the gas station, according to Springfield Fire Department.

Video sent in from a viewer shows large plumes of smoke coming from the gas station and visible flames.
We are working on learning what caused the fire and if any damage has been done to the gas station.
