Man taken to hospital after crashing car into barn, parked car; Alcohol suspected factor

MIAMI COUNTY — A man was taken to the hospital after crashing into a barn and a parked car in Miami County, according to an Ohio Department of Public Safety crash report.

Miami County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash in the 4000 block of Crane Road in Monroe Township at 1:57 a.m. Saturday morning.

Deputies believe the man, 52, of Tipp City, had alcohol in his system at the time of the crash, but refused a test on scene, according to the crash report.

He was driving a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country northwest when he approached a turn in the road, traveled off the right side, and struck a barn.

He then continued a short distance before hitting a parked 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, the crash report said.

The man was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center with suspected minor injuries.

The Chevrolet had disabling damage and the Chrysler had minor damage.

He was cited for failure to control.
