Car strikes child, 7, on bike in Fairborn; police cite teen driver for speeding

A 7-year-old child riding a bicycle Monday evening was struck by a car driven by a teenager.

The child was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital from Ramona Drive, Fairborn police Sgt. John McGuire said.

The 7-year-old’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening, the sergeant said.

McGuire said the driver was cited for speeding. The driver’s mother, who was on scene as well, said he is 16.

Fairborn police and a medic unit were dispatched to Ramona Drive about 7:15 p.m.
