UPDATE @ 1:03 p.m:

A woman was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with “very serious” injuries following a crash near the intersection of East Dorothy Lane and Sutton Avenue.

An SUV slid over onto its driver’s side before coming to a rest Sunday morning. The driver’s arm was trapped underneath the SUV, according to Kettering Fire Department Battalion Chief Jon Durrenberg.

Firefighters had several obstacles in getting the driver out of the SUV, said Durrenberg.

Crews worked for more than an hour to rescue the woman from the vehicle. She was the only one in the SUV, Durrenberg said.

A black sedan traveling east on East Dorothy Lane T-boned the SUV that was traveling south on Sutton Avenue, according to a Kettering police sergeant on scene.

The driver of the sedan was not injured. It’s not clear who was at fault of the crash.

It’s not known if the driver of the SUV was wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, according to Durrenberg.

Crews will remain on scene to continue the investigation and clean-up.
