>> Victim of Piqua homicide identified

The driver of a minivan was driving erratically, a witness called in before the accident, reaching speeds of 70 to 80 miles per hour while travelling northbound on Yellow Springs Street.

The minivan ran a red light while a woman was turning from west Pleasant Street onto Yellow Springs Street, striking her vehicle.

She was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from her car.

The passenger of the minivan was also taken by CareFlight, while the driver is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.

Sgt. Michael Curtis said the driver of the minivan could face charges of vehicular assault or aggravated vehicular assault -- presuming everyone lives.
