Community Blood Center facing critical need of blood ahead of Fourth of July holiday

DAYTON — Community Blood Center (CBC) is in critical need of multiple blood types as we get closer to the Fourth of July holiday.

The upcoming holiday is traditionally a period of high usage and low supply.

Currently, the CBC is in critical need of type O positive, type O negative, type A negative, and type B negative blood. All are at the emergency level of two-day supply.

CBC says they need both experienced and new donors to help meet the demand and prepare for the upcoming holiday period.

While there are fewer blood drives scheduled during the week of July 4, CBC is welcoming walk-in donors to the Dayton CBC Donation Center on S. Main Street.
