“Wicked Twister has given more than 16 million rides. For the next 31 days, we hope you have a chance to be a part of that ridership history and take one last launch on the world’s first record-breaking, double-impulse, five-time-LIM motor-launching, screeching teal and sunburst yellow steel behemoth,” Cedar Point said in a statement.

The inverted roller coaster is one of 18 that operate at the amusement park in Sandusky.

It opened in 2002.

It was not immediately known what the closure would make way for at the park, however Cedar Point said it would be removed to make way for “future park improvements.”
