Celina tornado: 911 calls describe moments after storm hit

CELINA — Several people called 911 to report damage and injuries following the tornado that damaged a portion of Celina and other parts of Mercer County Sunday evening.

“We’re at C-town and we have some injured,” one caller told 911 dispatchers. “They’re walking, but they’re bloody and there’s a baby, too.”

Another caller reported the significant damage to the Dollar General store in the city.

“The Dollar General is collapsed on one half and we’ve got a couple coming out with a child screaming,” the caller said.  “They’re walking around in a daze. I don’t believe they’re injured.”

A third caller reported that people at Dunham’s Sports were hiding in the break room as the storm slammed the Mercer County city.
