CenterPoint Energy postponing late fees, disconnections for customers impacted by delivery delays

CenterPoint Energy says a U.S. Postal Service issue has caused bill delivery delays for certain customers in Ohio and Indiana.

“Initially thought to be an isolated issue, it has been determined that additional bills sent out over the last several weeks have not been delivered on time,” a CenterPoint spokesperson said in a statement.

The company said impacted customers have been identified and late fees and disconnections associated with delayed bills, the company said, would be automatically postponed if bills are paid before the next due date.

CenterPoint Energy said that the issued has been resolved.
