DAYTON — The Centerville boys basketball team won the Division I State Championship Sunday night.
The Elks defeated the Westerville Central Warhawks 43-42 at UD Arena.

This marks the first state title in program history.

Centerville Athletic Director Rob Dement told News Center 7 at the community’s send-off for the team prior to the game that he could not be prouder of what this team has accomplished this year.
“[I’m] just proud of how well our coaches and players have adapted and worked through this very tough situation,” Dement said.
The Elks join the Botkins boys basketball team as two local teams to claim state championships on Sunday.
