Centerville to host ‘Hometown Holiday Walk’, tree lighting ceremony today

CENTERVILLE — Uptown Centerville is set to turn into a winter wonderland for the 2022 Hometown Holiday Walk and tree lighting ceremony this evening.

A holiday-themed “Vendor Village,” including around 40 local vendors will take over the parking lot at the intersection of Main and Franklin streets from noon to 5:30 p.m.

There will be activities for kids, including a visit with Santa Claus at the Town Hall Theatre and activities at the Kid’s Corner.

The annual tree lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m. hosted by Mayor Brooks Compton and featuring live performances.

Free hot chocolate, coffee, and holiday cookies from Crumble Cookies will be available at Benhams Grove before the ceremony.

Parking and shuttles to the Vendor Village will be available at the Activity Center Park at 221 North Main Street.
