News Center 7′s Kayla McDermott says the department is pairing up with the Community Blood Center to host this drive in an effort to save lives.

Blood donations are always in demand, especially with the American Red Cross issuing its first ever blood crisis earlier this year.

O Negative blood is the type of blood that is consistently the most needed and also acts as the universal donor.

McDermott says any of blood is more than welcome to come and donate.

As an incentive to get more people to come and donate, Centerville Police posted on its Facebook page anyone who registers from now until August 27th to donate will be automatically entered in a chance to win four tickets to a Cincinnati Reds game as well as a Cole Swindell concert.

To try and get people to give an additional pint, people can donate twice to double their chances at winning and will get a custom water bottle for choosing to save lives.
