CSU broke ground a year ago for the $15 million, 55,000-square-foot facility that has 119 beds with 65 apartment-styled units, university officials said in an announcement released Wednesday.
According to the university’s development partner University Housing Solutions, the Honors Residence Hall introduces new pedestrian pathways based on existing foot traffic. The primary pathway will serve as a prominent, accessible connector between the Honors Village and the rest of Central State’s campus.
The Honors Village design encourages a functional atmosphere by featuring a courtyard and public outdoor gathering areas. The proposed parking location extends the existing parking and provides 40 new parking spaces.
The Honors Residence Hall is a part of a $65 million expansion project called Project Innovation, which includes the construction of six more buildings over 36 months.
