CENTERVILLE — Lawn chairs are already lining East Franklin Street, claiming spots for the 2018 Americana Festival parade, more than a week before the event begins.

The Americana Festival parade begins July 4 at 10 a.m. on East Franklin west of Centerville High School and proceeds west to Cline Elementary on Virginia Avenue, according to organizers.

Organizers said more than 120 units will be participating in the 2018 edition of the parade, which fills the streets with spectators every year.
The Americana Festival started in 1972 as a sidewalk sale promoted by Centerville downtown merchants, organizers said.
