DAYTON — The Chaminade Julienne High School community is mourning the loss of another community member following the death of a longtime assistant basketball coach.

Rich Kidd passed away Monday after he spent over 30 years as a coach at the school, a school spokesperson said in a social media post Tuesday.
“Coach Kidd was a friend and mentor to so many CJ students who participated in the basketball program for more than 30 years, and a person who brought joy and laughter to all those he met,” the spokesperson said.

“Please join us in praying for Rich, his family, current and graduated members of the CJ basketball program, and his many friends in and out of the Dayton coaching community.”
Since September, the CJ community has dealt with the deaths of three other community members including alumni relations coordinator Ann Szabo, longtime special education teacher Judi Macleod, and Leon “Leo” Lehner, a freshman at the school who died in a rowing accident in October.
