‘Check your tires, check your tire pressure;’ Drivers dealing with coldest air in months

MIAMI VALLEY — People across the Miami Valley are waking up to the coldest air seen in months Wednesday morning.

As reported Wednesday on News Center 7 Daybreak, the entire region was under a Freeze Warning as we are seeing the coldest temperatures in months.

Drivers might see some lights pop up on the dashboard.

AAA says the most common things you will see in the cold are dead batteries, low tire pressure, and tire blowouts.

News Center 7 spoke with a AAA supervisor that drivers should make sure they check their care before leaving.

“Check your tires, check your tire pressure. If your tire sensors are coming on, you know, stop by the gas station or call us out. We’ll put air in the tires,” said Sonny Washabaugh, AAA Fleet Supervisor.

He also said it is a good idea for people to check their batteries ahead of the real cold months.

“Call in. We can test the battery then and there. Check your dates on your batteries. Sometimes, you know, three years is about the average life of a battery. Sometimes you go five years or more, but if you’re at three years, you want to get that battery replaced
