SPRINGFIELD — Police are investigating after a child was hit by a car in Springfield Wednesday evening.

Around 6 p.m. Springfield police and medics were called to the 300 block of North Clairmont Avenue to reports of a child hit by a car, according to Springfield police dispatch.
A woman was pulling into her driveway when she did not notice a 5-year-old girl sitting on the curb and hit her with her car, according to Sgt. Justin Adkins with Springfield police.
A medical helicopter took the child from Springfield Regional Medical Center to Dayton Children’s Hospital, Adkins said.
Currently, the woman who hit the child is not facing any charges.
The condition of the girl is not known at this time.
