Clifford Holt grew up on Shelly Drive and voiced his concerns to Patterson.

“Pretty quiet neighborhood right here, so it is disturbing, you know, to see kind of, you know, that type of activity on this street,” he said. “It’s kind of picked up with stolen cars being on the streets, on this street.”

Holt and other neighbors wondered if this shooting was related to another stolen car.

“That makes you kind of apprehensive because now I’m thinking about my car,” he told Patterson.

As Dayton Police cleared the scene, Patterson asked them about the possibility of this being related to another crime.

“It’s possible. We don’t know,” said Sergeant Chris Savage.

He told Patterson that the person was being uncooperative with police and there were a lot of unanswered questions.

“It could have happened here. It could have somewhere else, like I said, He gave us nothing,” said Savage.

Holt told Patterson besides locking teens up and hoping they will learn; he thinks they need a divergence program.

“They need to go through some type of program to kind of help them gain a sense of responsibility and how to become a better citizen,” he said.

Savage told Patterson this would be presented to detectives on Monday. They will investigate and see if the person will describe what happened.

News Center 7 has contacted Dayton Police and requested more information.

We will update this story.
