Christmas this year was merry and bright in the Miami Valley, with some of the warmest temperatures on record.
There was lots of sunshine in the Dayton area, bringing temperatures to the lower 60s. At the Dayton International Airport, it officially climbed to 62 degrees on Christmas day, making it one of the warmest on record.
The warmest Christmas on record was in 1893, when the temperature hit 65 degrees.

The last time the Miami Valley saw temperatures in the 60s on Christmas was in 1982, almost 40 years ago.
Since records began, Dayton has only reached the 60s on Christmas day three times. This year was the fourth.
The average high on Christmas is 36 degrees. This year was 26 degrees above normal.
The weather is supposed to cool down for the new year.
