The project will include the construction of a large medical office building next to the hospital. A spokesperson for Cincinnati Children’s said it would accommodate numerous outpatient specialty clinics.
“We are improving access for children and families in and around Butler County by bringing more services close to home,” Steve Davis, MD, president and CEO of Cincinnati Children’s said.
Workers will start preparing the site for construction in March and construction of the medical office building will begin in the summer. The building is expected to be completed in 2027.
A four-story addition to the hospital will include four new operating rooms, three new surgical procedure rooms, 10 additional rooms in the emergency department, and 72 more inpatient beds. That is expected to be completed in the summer of 2028.
The project also includes renovations to the over 100,000 square feet of existing space to improve patient flow and add eight new rooms for imaging. That’s expected to be completed in the summer of 2029.
At least 250 new jobs will be created at the Liberty Campus over five years due to the expansion.
