CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Zoo announced it has a new addition to its family.
The zoo announced on social media Friday that Stevie, an eastern bongo, gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Tuesday evening.
Zoo keepers decided to name him Beaudan as a tribute to his dad, Beau, according to the zoo.
“Eastern bongos are critically endangered, so every birth is important to the survival of the species,” the zoo said.
Both Stevie and Beaudan are “doing great” and are bonding behind the scenes.
