CINCINNATI — Fiona the hippo is turning four today and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden will be celebrating her birthday with a chance to meet Cincinnati’s most famous resident.
The Zoo is hosting Float4Fiona, a race where thousands of apples will splash into Hippo Cove and float to the finish line.

The winner plus three guests will get to meet the birthday girl, Fiona!
Apples are available for purchase on the zoo’s website.

“We can’t invite people here to witness the race, but we will stream it live on Facebook and announce the winners as the apples cross the finish line,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard. “Since she is the sweetheart of the city, several Zoo partners are offering Fiona-themed goodies to celebrate her birthday.”

Fiona fans can also celebrate her birthday at with Fiona themed treats from businesses like Graeter’s Ice Cream and Busken Cookies.
