RICHMOND — City buildings and offices will be closed in Richmond Monday as the community comes together to mourn a fallen officer.
On social media the City of Richmond said the buildings and offices will be closed for Officer Seara Burton’s memorial services.
Her funeral will be Monday morning at 11 a.m. at Richmond High School.

After the funeral, the procession will leave the high school and make its way to the Richmond Police Department, where they will pause for her “end of watch” call and then continue on US-40 and head west to Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis where Officer Burton will be laid to rest.
Officer Burton passed way on Sept. 18 surrounded by her family at Reid Health, succumbing to her injury she received after being shot on Aug. 10 during a traffic stop.
Richmond Community Schools will also conducting an eLearning day district-wide for all students.
