The City Commission awarded a contract to the Garfield Construction Company for blight removal services in Old North Dayton, the city said Wednesday.

The contract is for at least $21,000.

The construction company will clear brush and vegetation from identified vacant properties in North Dayton, which is a qualified census tract for the Dayton Recovery Plan, according to the city of Dayton.

The project is part of the Dayton Recovery Plan’s $55 million Improve Our Neighborhoods initiative which focuses on city-led and managed projects that support neighborhood revitalization.
