CENTERVILLE — The City of Centerville’s planning commission voted to approve plans to build a new Sheetz convenience store Tuesday night.
It would be along Far Hills Avenue in the old Elsa’s location.
The city’s planning commission and members of the public met for over 2 hours, to discuss the convenience store.
The initial plan didn’t include public comment, but after a large crowd attended, the commission changed its mind.

The proposed Centerville location on Far Hills Avenue would include more than a 6,000-square-foot convenience store and 14 fuel pumps.
Sheetz has a made-to-order order menu that features specialty drinks and food items 24/7.
Benjamin Amato lives near the site.
“If it’s a good spot for it, I think it’d be good,” Amato said.
Developers plan to have three ways for drivers to get into the convenience store, all would be from side streets.
On Far Hills Avenue their plan would have a 400-foot northbound to eastbound turn lane for traffic to turn onto a side street that has an access point.
At Tuesday’s meeting, traffic was a big talking about.
Some are worried about bringing more crime and air pollution, but others think this would be a nice addition to the community.
If someone appeals this decision to the city council then the council will have a public hearing.
Any traffic improvements that need to be made will be constructed and funded by the developers.
