SPRINGFIELD — The City of Springfield will follow the IRS tax deadline extension, making the deadline to file and pay 2019 Springfield income tax July 15.

This willl include 2019 final tax liability and 2020 first quarter estimated tax.
There will be no late penalty or interest charges for filing past the previously held date, April 15, as long as taxes are recieved or postmarked by July 15.
Citizens can still request a federal filing extension to October 15, 2020 which will be honored by the City of Springfield.
