MIAMISBURG — Services to honor the life of longtime Miamisburg Middle School employee Lori Flory are pending.
According to Flory’s obituary, it was her wish to not have any services, but a Celebration of Life and burial will both take place at a later date.
According to social media posts, Flory, 54, died Friday due to COVID-19.
Classes were cancelled at Miamisburg Middle School Friday following Flory’s death, according to district superintendent Dr. Laura Blessing. She was the second staff member to pass away during the week.

The district announced the passing of Flory, a longtime nutrition services employee, in social media messages and a separate message to district members Friday morning.
Grief counselors, teachers, and other support staff will be offered to students, staff members, and parents, Blessing said in the message to district family members.
“Lori will be remembered for her fourteen years of dedicated service to middle school students and staff in Miamisburg City Schools. Her delicious pumpkin rolls at Thanksgiving were a favorite dessert for many in the Miamisburg community. Lori’s presence in the cafeteria will be greatly missed,” Blessing said.
