Leaming has been a paramedic and fire fighter for more the three decades! He worked through the ranks in Xenia, Ohio and spent time as the chief deputy state Fire Marshall in Ohio. Leaming has been out in the rain, snow, ice and extreme heat for more than 30 years.
He explains how they train, what they do during fire rescues in different conditions, and what we can do to help our first responders save lives as quickly as possible.
The 1974 F5 Xenia tornado was also a turning point in his mind about just how powerful weather can be, he shares a personal story about how that shaped him as a fire fighter.
