COLUMBUS — The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has announced the birth of a tufted deer fawn.
The zoo said the fawn, who currently doesn’t have a name, was born on November 26, 2021, to mother, Joslyn, and father, Dexter.

The fawn is being hand-raised by his care team due to complications following his birth. Both the fawn and his mother are doing well, and the care team reported that the fawn is very bright and active, the zoo said.
He now weighs over 5 pounds and receives milk bottles every 3 hours during the day.
The zoo said over the next few months, the tufted deer fawn will be introduced to his relatives and the tufted deer habitat.
