Community Blood Center asking for blood donors leading up to Easter

DAYTON — The Community Blood Center (CBC) is asking for blood donations this Easter holiday weekend.

They are asking donors to support the blood supply this Easter weekend by donating at the “Good to Give Friday & Saturday” blood drive April 7 and 8 at the Dayton CBC Donation Center at the 300 block of S. Main Street, according to a CBC spokesperson.

The CBC said there are facing a low supply of type O blood.

Everyone who registers to donate will receive a $10 Kroger gift card.

Anyone who donates blood between now and April 7 will also be automatically entered in the “Hop In and Donate” drawing to win a 35 pound Esther Price chocolate bunny, the spokesperson said.

Donors must be at least 17 years old and required to provide photo identification; that includes their full name.
