Community Blood Center in urgent need for blood donors leading up to Fourth of July holiday

DAYTON — The Community Blood Center (CBC) is in urgent need of multiple blood types as the Fourth of July holiday begins.

CBC is welcoming walk-in donors at their donation center at the 300 block of S. Main Street where registered donors will receive a $10 Kroger gift card, between now and Thursday, a spokesperson said.

All registered donors will receive a free cherry pie Friday, Saturday, and Monday and be entered to win two tickets to the Morgan Wallen concert on August 11 at Oho Stadium in Columbus.

They are in current critical need of type O negative blood and in low supply of type O positive, type A negative, and type B positive blood.

CBC needs donors to help with the current shortage and to prepare for the demands of the long holiday weekend, according to the spokesperson.

The Dayton CBC Donation Center will be closed on July 4.
