PARK LAYNE — Hundreds of friends and family lit candles, left mementos, and stood together to mourn the loss of a Clark County mother.
Jackie Coles was found dead at her home on Weinland Drive last Tuesday.
Coles’s co-worker, Kevin Stacy was on the phone with her earlier this week and said something wasn’t right.

“I heard the phone hit the ground,” Stacy told News Center 7′s Sean Cudahy.
Stacy and Coles were having a normal phone conversation when he heard the phone drop.
“I head her scream…and I heard her voice…elevated, I couldn’t understand what she was saying … she was going on and then I heard a male voice, then I heard her voice again,” Stacy said.
That’s when he called 911.
After Clark County deputies made the tragic discovery, the sheriff’s office and Ohio BCI spent hours at the scene, searching for clues Tuesday.
Deputies are calling Coles’ estranged husband, Noel Coles a person of interest in her death.
Noel Coles is now in the Clark County jail after investigators in Indiana took him into custody on a protection order violation.
Deputies say Coles admitted he was on Weinland drive, “watching the kids get on the bus.” just before 7:30 Tuesday morning.
Our I-Team uncovered court records Wednesday revealing Jackie Coles had filed for a protective order against Noel Coles.
According to court filings, “On multiple occasions” he “threatened to kill (her)”
Meanwhile, the community grieves over the loss of a mother, friend, and colleague.
“Her heart. She had the biggest heart out of anybody,” Stacy said.
He continued, “She cared about every person she ever met. Every person. And she gave of herself incessantly and never put herself before anyone. Ever in her life.”
