Champaign County man accused of using Skype to share nude photos of young children

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — A 23-year-old convicted sex offender was arrested Friday after deputies said he used a computer and other devices to search and obtain child porn using Skype.

A preliminary investigation led detectives to serve a search warrant at Zachary Koa Hancock’s house and for his computers, the sheriff’s office said.

According to court records, Hancock is accused of downloading images of boys and girls between the ages of 1 and 10. Deputies said Hancock forwarded the images to another person using Skype.

Zachary Koa Hancock was previously convicted on a charge of “taking indecent liberties with a minor” in North Carolina in January and moved to Ohio to be with his family. After arriving in Ohio, Hancock registered as a sex offender with Champaign County.

Hancock ultimately was arrested on one count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, which is a felony.

The case remains under investigation and additional charges are possibly upon presenting the case to a grand jury, deputies said.
