Coronavirus: Ohio sees over 61K unemployment claims last week

OHIO — Ohio saw 61,083 initial jobless claims filed last week, bring the total over the last seven weeks to 1,118,569.

New data released Thursday by the state shows that Ohio has paid out more than $1.9 billion in unemployment compensation payments to 536,000 Ohioans.

The news comes as the United States announced 3.2 million workers applied for unemployment across the country last week.
