DAYTON — Sinclair Community College donated thousands of medical supplies and equipment to area hospitals amid a critical need for the items during the coronavirus outbreak.

The college announced Wednesday that over 11,000 Personal Protective Equipment items and 500 individual medical supplies would be donated to local hospitals, a spokesperson said in a media release.

Also included in the donations would be a transfer of nine ventilators, four cardiac monitors, and numerous respiratory units.

“These are challenging times and we’re glad to be able to provide our local hospitals with the critical medical supplies and equipment needed during this time,” Sinclair President Dr. Steve Johnson said in the release.
“Our goal is to help ‘flatten the curve’ and we are committed to keep our students and this community safe. These are difficult times and all of us at Sinclair are prepared to do whatever it takes to get through this,” Johnson said.
