FAIRBORN — The Wright State University Foundation has received over $28 thousand in donations to help contribute to the university’s student emergency relief campaign.
Wright State is allowing students to begin applying for grants through Wright State’s Emergency Relief Fund if they have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are so grateful for the support provided by our Wright State family during this unprecedented time," Bill Bigham, interim vice president for advancement.
“Our students’ lives have been turned upside down by this pandemic.”
So far, 379 donors have given the university $28,254 and the Wright State University Foundation has contributed $3,000 in challenge grants, according to a release.
The grants offer a one-time support to students currently enrolled at the Dayton or Lake campuses.

Students who find themselves in need of financial assistance with food, toiletries, medications, travel expenses from when they returned home, or other things not listed may apply online.
“Our Division of Student Affairs will be reviewing applications as quickly as they can so we can get this much-needed funding to our students as soon as possible,” Bigham said.
Wright State is accepting donations for the relief fund through April 17.
